Once a poor and underdeveloped country, China has now emerged as the world’s second-largest economy. The CPC which has only a few members at the time of establishment has grown into a massive and robust organization boasting 101 million members. Those familiar with China view this transformation as nothing short of a miracle, given the tremendous strides in development and the significant improvement in citizens’ living standards achieved in recent decades.
China’s success—particularly its achievement in lifting approximately 900 million people out of poverty in recent years—serves as a valuable lesson for other nations and their governments. The Communist Party and the government deserve much of the credit for the development taking place in China and the prosperity enjoyed by its people. The discipline evident among the Party, the government, and the populace is a key factor in China’s success. Under the leadership of the CPC General Secretary and Chinese President Xi Jinping, China continues to make steady progress while extending assistance to numerous countries around the world. The rapid pace of China’s development over the past few decades demonstrates that when a nation’s leaders and citizens love their country, nothing can halt its progress or advancement.

The Communist Party, which has steered China onto the path of progress, is celebrating its 105th anniversary this year. On July 1, Party General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered a speech at a grand ceremony held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing and awarded medals to Party members who had made outstanding contributions. Xi emphasized that for 105 years, the Communist Party of China has remained steadfastly committed to its founding aspiration and mission: seeking happiness for the Chinese people and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. It has deeply grasped the general trends of global development, accurately understood the shifts in the principal contradictions of society across different historical eras, and united and led people of all ethnic groups nationwide in unceasing struggle—thereby writing the most magnificent epic in thousands of years of Chinese history.

While China began to develop following the founding of the People’s Republic in 1949, the true story of its transformation began in 1978 with the implementation of the open door policy, which attracted foreign investment and led to the establishment of large-scale factories. The fortunes of impoverished Chinese citizens were transformed through hard work, discipline, and the sound policies of the Party and the government. Today, China makes significant global contributions, and development projects are underway in numerous countries with Chinese cooperation. Having elevated the living standards of its citizens, the Communist Party of China and the government have now shifted their focus toward high-quality development.

Now China’s focus has shifted towards high-quality development to building a modern, smart, and green economy. Through this way China wants to grow domestic wealth through technology, clean, green energy and consumer spending. China’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) exceeded 140 trillion yuan, per capita disposable income grew at an average annual rate of 5.4 percent, a total of 62.42 million new urban jobs were created, and average life expectancy rose to over 79 years.

It is noteworthy that even after providing a better life for hundreds of millions of people, the Communist Party and its leaders remain actively engaged; they aspire to achieve widespread national prosperity and establish China as a leading global power. China has made strides in every sector—from high-speed rail to science, technology, education, and healthcare—and is now showing the way to the rest of the world.
